Apologies for being away from the blog this last week comrades. My summer job leaves me knackered at the end of the day and I have also had a bad case of bloggers block. Baseball also demands attention most evenings as well (congrats to Cubs fans for their team fighting into first place. Carlos Guillen is back with the Tigers and is already making his mark, last night’s Texas game not withstanding).
Not that there isn’t plenty out there to comment on. There is. I thought blogging would be perfect for me since I don’t have the discipline or editorial skills to be a real writer, but even blogging is work on occasion. In any case I promise to burden the web with thoughts soon. This evening I’ll settle for a video post of Rick Wolff from today’s Real News on the rise in the stock market and the state of the economy. Wolff has been very good on the causes the the current crisis and this interview is no different.
The Rustbelt starts nearly every morning with 1) coffee and 2) The Real News. I like the other “left” news sites too, but The Real News covers the class war in ways that DN and GritTv just don’t or won’t. For one thing Paul Jay is continually to the left of the folks he interviews and the man seems to have no fear at all of Marxism. In deed, he seems positively favorable to the motifs of Marx. How refreshing.
